OK, so I had a plan to get all my credit cards current and to even get one of them paid off by the end of November and 3 more by March.

You have got a few things going for you at the moment. (I am sorry you are sick btw, that is terrible). The first thing is that you are coming here to vent instead of going out and buying yourself something to make yourself feel better. You have an efund, and even if it is not much at least you are not charging the whole emergency, and you have a plan. The last one is the biggest step. Lots of people wander around and have no plan to even be derailed from.

Yes, it is unfortunate that those things came up so quickly to discourage you but the only way to beat this situation is to not let it do that. Put on your robe and start making a list. Prioritize the derailment. What do you need to do to get healthy first then what do you need to catch up on before you keep going with your fabulous plan? Put money amounts by each item on the list. Then as you get back on your feet you can check them off and feel more in control.

First things first: GET BETTER and go back to work. Get some rest and stop stressing! Isn't that what you would tell anyone in this position?

You will be fine. Go to bed.

Thanks for the pep talk, I did need that! I've already noticed that, just b/c we are in better control, that I don't "freak" out over things like I used to. I wish I could take your advice about going to bed...but I am at work today!! I took 2 days off and then decided to "try" to work today....I learned after only a few hours that I needed to go home, but, I am not able to leave since there is no one to come in and cover my patient.

I used to work part time for a real estate company and earned no sick time. It totally stunk - if the kids were sick I had shove them to grandma b/c I couldn't afford a day with no pay. Boo for no sick days!

You have to realize that even the best laid plans get bumps in the road. You can have your debt journey mapped to the penny and something will happen to de-rail you. Don't get discouraged - just keep plugging along and do your best!!

FIRST GET REST! And take care of your health.

Sorry things are not the greatest! Take care of yourself first and foremost! You need to be healthy!!!

As much as it sucks not being able to continue plugging along the way you want it to, its still so much better then having no clue. The good news is that you have some kind of emergency fund. Even if its not enough to cover the whole thing, its still something. As soon as I decided that I should get mine up to $2000, emergency happened and now I am down to $370.

Get healthy and keep on keeping on!
