Some (potentially) good news!

As some of you may remember, I got a new job in May which was a promotion of sorts (I work for the federal gov't so each job has a level and the only way to "get a raise" is to move up to a higher level job).
Anyways, my manager is on part-time language training which means he is in office for four weeks then out for two. Then next summer he is out for at least four months. He asked me today if I would be interested in acting in his position. That means for four months I would be doing his job and getting paid at the higher salary ($10k higher then mine!). Even though its not set in stone, and it would only be temporary, its still nice that they think I can do it! Its nice when people let you know you are appreciated.
So on that note, I appreciate everyone here and all the helpful advice and thoughtful comments each of you give. Thanks guys!

Oh Bex that is great news, Congrats. Not only is that good news right now and for the summer but there are lots of what ifs too. Like what if the guy that is getting training moves on to another job in the private sector or else where? Maybe you could be considered for his job permanently or another position will open up in another department. Keeps your eyes and ears open!
Congrats Bex...
Will we have to start call you "Boss" lol
