End of Year Goals

I just thought I would see how everyone is making out and what the goals for the end of the year are.

Mine are pretty simple.

1) Pay off the portion of the appliances that will start to accumulate interest in April: This means another $470 to go! I have already paid off $530 and should be able to make this goal with the extra money coming in from my higher paychecks. I've already budgeted $75 per paycheck so this alone will bring me close

2) Get through Christmas with limited funds spent (and everything in cash!). Every year I swear I'm cutting down and every year its the same thing! I am

Great question...

1. I would like to figure out a reasonable budget I can live with...

2. Get my mortgage down to 86k

3. Personal retirement fund up to 57k

4. Work retirement fund up to 115k

5. Credit card debt down to 50k

6. Stay focused on all the above goals

save $3312 for my car.
Cash for Christmas, which should be do-able because I have set money aside. I am making most of my gifts, and not spending much.

I will be happy with those two things.

My end-of-year goals are pretty simple:

1) Cash-only Christmas. We've got $500 to do it with, and are certain we'll be able to stick to it.

2) Get current on the mortgage. (And stay current!) DH's irregular income and my late paychecks haven't helped...but we're expecting a nice windfall over the next few weeks so I'm confident we can finally get caught up.

3) Make it through the holidays with my new business (homemade baked goods)...on top of working full-time and taking care of a toddler...without tearing my hair out or ending up in the loony bin. :)

Stacy - I have to say, I'm so impressed that you will have your sinking funds in place for the entire next year! That's a huge accomplishment. It's definitely a longer term goal for me...hopefully by end of next year I can do it. Congrats!

Well I almost have them in place. I am just shy $1300 to have all the sinking funds in place for next year. I have until the end of November to get that into place as we pay our bills one month in advance.

I think I can do it. But it will mean that we can't have any surprises and we have to be diligent about saving.

My goals I hope to accomplish by the end of the year are:

1) Put $3,000.00 toward my cc debt.

2) Continue to not use my credit cards.

3) Work hard so we don't have to touch our e-fund (we recently had a decrease in income but hopefully that will be very very temporary).

Simple goals, really.
