A little bit of good news

We received a little bit of good news today, and I thought I'd share because it's so important to celebrate the small victories on this long journey. (All part of my recent promise to myself to see the glass half full, rather than half empty.)

There was a letter in today's mail from our mortgage company, and I immediately cringed. We had fallen a great deal behind on our property tax payments a while back, and entered into a payment plan with our lender for 5 years at 5-plus (varying) percent interest. We are late on this month's payment at the moment, and my instinct these days has been to expect the worst...so I immediately assumed it would be a notice telling me that the agreement had been broken and that we'd have to pay them thousands of dollars cash by tomorrow.

Instead, I found a nicely worded letter stating that, in this economy, they want to do everything they can to help their customers. So they are removing the interest entirely on the balance owed, and are extending the terms by another 12 months to lower our monthly payment even further. SCORE!

It's little things like this - just when I start to think that I can't deal with the debt issues any longer - that pick me up and keep me going.

Wow! That's great news! That's like a letter I received many years ago saying that a charity had paid the balance off on my son's hospital bill from when he was born. It makes you feel so great that there is still some kindness in this world!

Hey, anything to make you breath easier, especially when income is not the same month to month. Options are what we all need. Plan A, B,C, and D. I am going to try to take your advice and see the glass as half full. Because in all honesty ,things are much better for me this year. Things last year were way worse and I have more options now. I want a letter telling me I have an extended credit line to get me through the winter! It won't happen but hey, stranger things........LOL. Great post, the little things are important!

I am happy for you!
