Tomorrow is November 1 already! What are your short-term goals for the month? How did you do with October's goals?

We actually have a lot coming up in November (and December...nothing new there!). This is always the hardest time for me because I tend to forget something and find myself scrambling. I'm hoping to avoid that with this goal-setting.

November goals:
-Pay 1/2 of my target card, which is $700 (UGH!)
-Start chipping away at Christmas gifts. I have the kids' lists and DH and I are finally buying a decent TV for ourselves. We don't need much else.
-Schedule my first visit with the new car at the dealer's for oil change, etc. I have no idea what that will cost me.

October went well. I paid off my first card (we have 5 total) and would use it to transfer a balance, but the balance transfer offer they have is ridiculous. No point in paying the fees if it isn't worth it, so we just have the CCs bundled up. One good thing is that we are firmly committed to not using credit. DH is just sick over the rates the credit cards are jumping to. It's actually a good thing. He needed to get good and angry.

Hmmm....

I need to do my finishing of holiday gifts which includes an IPOD for husband and something for my mom. I am hoping to get some Black Friday sales but I am not sure.

Would like to put $400 on credit card (putting us at oweing UNDER $1,000!!!) but with the holidays I am not sure if that's smart. I should probably only put $200 on the card and save cash for last minute holiday stuff that pops up. I am just so determined to get rid of this last credit card.

Otherwise, no new goals.

I have budgeted 150.00 to be spent on some Christmas presents during November...don't know where the rest of the money will come from yet! But I do think I'll get a

I haven't done my budget for November yet. I get paid every two weeks, and I budget one pay check at a time. So, my goal is to stick to the budgets that I make for the month. They are strict, but I am really motivated right now. My major goal is to keep on track with my plan to get my car paid off (doing great right now).
I too hope to make some progress with Christmas gifts. My budget for the holidays is pretty generous because I put money away each pay cheque for Christmas. So, shouldn't be too bad.
My youngest daughter's birthday is this month. We have all her gifts bought. DH wants to buy her a hockey stick if he can find one that is reasonable and her size. We are having a party for her but she is turning 5 so it won't cost much. I will probably budget $40.
We would like to start working on decorating my youngest daughter's room. So, we have to discuss our ability to do that. If we need to save up for a month we will, although it will be hard as she mentions daily that she wants her room done.
