This man lost his job and then the family home. So they bought an RV and hit the road. Is this something you could see yourself doing?

Believe it or not, it is something my family has discussed before this article. We've realized a trailer would be cheaper than our rent (but thought it wouldn't be in our long-term interest like a house) and are sometimes envious of this other family we knew who just packed up one day, piled in the RV and moved to the prairies, thinking they'd find better prospects there.

Ultimately, I think it comes down to personality. We're nesters and don't think we could make an RV our nest. However, it has a certain appeal.

Also, although it can make you a better family, building long-term relationships is a skill - one that these kids will have more trouble learning if they do not settle down in one location for very long. From all the foreign service kids I know, they usually became either very "charming" and could instant make friends (though not necessarily maintain them) or very slow to open, so they wouldn't get attached. There are ways to still develop these certain social skills on the road, but it wasn't discussed in the video.

No I don't think I would do this. I only have my kids half of the time and this would cause a huge custody rift. Plus I have a business, and property that I cannot just up and leave. If I lost the business I would look for another job. It would be rare, although it does happen, for both myself and my bf to lose our jobs at the same time. We would make it.
