We went to the Open house at the fancy private school we're looking in to today. Of course the school was great...why wouldn't it be? My son loved it and they have such a great music and drama program which is exactly what he is in to. I set up the next step but I'm just thinking "Why am I going through all of this?" If we don't get 95% financial aid, which is the absolute best they can give, then we can't afford it. But I have to think of this as a learning experience. I'm going through this on the slight chance that everything will fall in to place and we will get in and be able to afford it. Who knows? If this is where my son is meant to go to school then things will work out. If the aid doesn't come through, we will find a different route. We will do something else. Where one door closes, another opens.

I guess I'm kind of taking this slowly. We scheduled a buddy day where he gets to tag along with another 6th grader. We also scheduled a parent chat and a student interview. I'm going to start thinking about the application soon. Aaron has to write an essay so I was thinking of giving him the questions and having him mull it over for awhile. Writing is not one of his strong suits. I have a financial aid workshop to attend this Thursday and I'm trying to rearrange my schedule to fit it in. We haven't looked at any other schools yet. I definitely need to do some more research. I'm finding out about so many programs that I never knew existed though. This experience will absolutely broaden my sons horizons no matter what happens.
