Have you guys ever done surveys or free trials? Years ago when I was really REALLY bad off and struggling to find money any way that I could, I signed up for a ton of survey sites and free trial promotions. It was very time consuming and you have to be super organized, but for the very short amount of time I was serious about it I made $20 dollars on surveys and got a $50 dollar cheescake factory gift card and gas cards and others that I can't remember. Lately, my bank has been sending me these offers. Usually I just trash them, but the one with the free grocery card caught my attention. All I had to do was send in the card saying I wanted to try their program (postage was free) and then about 3 weeks later I got the trial material. I filled out the free Grocery postcard they included (free postage again) and a few days ago it arrived in the mail. $40 dollars of free groceries is HUGE! I was a little worried that if I canceled they'd forget to send me the card, but they didn't! It's free and clear! And I even have a cancellation confirmation number!
Here's the trick though. I always find out how long the trial period is, put that date and the phone number to cancel in my Yahoo calendar, which sends me a reminder. I call to cancel and am very firm and polite when I cancel. They usually ask you 2 or 3 times to not cancel and offer you a better deal, but I always cancel anyway. It's pretty easy. I just sent one in for $40 dollars worth of free gas as well. It's a relatively low hassle way to get some free money!

That's awesome, Abby!
I've done those free trial things for the benefits in the past, and you're right - the trick is making sure you remember to cancel the free trial on time. Those companies make a TON of money off people who forget and end up getting charged, even just once (multiplied across all of those who forget) adds up.
Congrats!
