I am so close to paying off the first half of my appliances (background: balance was ~$2k, first half accumulates interest in March if not paid off, second half in November of next year). I got the statement in today and I owe $198 on the first half and $1025 on the second. I am SOOOOOO close I can taste it, lol. Best part is I have a guarenteed $70 coming from my budget (my gas bill dropped by $70 but I still budget high) so I need $130 more to meet my goal of payoff by Dec 1. I will be working at the grooming salon at least 2 possibly

Well that is good news!

This is what I have been trying to explain. And it really is difficult, I wish I knew why I did it. Once I get close to one goal and have it "all figured out" I automatically jump to another and start doing calculations etc. It sounds like you do this too. I'm not saying its bad.........I just think I need to give it more thought. I have so many goals and I am confused about what order to put them in. Maybe there is some merit to giving it more thought. Just finish one! Then reevaluate. It is hard, it is really hard. I want to throw my savings at my ticker debt. It would help me get to my other goal faster. But what is wrong with doing two goals at once, saving and paying down debt. That way I don't nothing all the time?

Sorry for hi-jacking, just thinking out loud about where I want to go.

You are doing awesome Bex!

Hi Bex - A question from a curious lurker here - when you flake extra in your budgeted items such as water and taxes, do you still pay the money to your regular budgeted item, such as water or taxes, so that you get "ahead" on those items and then pay your targeted balance at some point in the future, or do you pay the targeted bill each month with the extra you have budgeted? Hope you can understand what I'm asking :)

Thanks!!

I think I get what you are saying. I hope this will clarify.

In my case I budget for the same amount every month and its always the highest amount a bill has ever been. So for example my gas bill one month was $150 so now on my spreadsheet my gas bill is listed as $150. Since then it has fallen and is now $80 so I pay the $80 that I owe and send the $70 to my CC.

In the case of water, it comes every 8 weeks.
