I could really do without October, November and December. I feel like my budget is completely out of control with all of the extra expenses that pop up during these months. I'm not going to bore you with all of them, but I just needed a good cry yesterday. I have so much stress that builds up and builds up. One thing that really bothers me during these months is that my husband goes in to full 'part time job' mode. Whenever he has a day off, he's out working. This is actually a good thing because this is always the money we use for Christmas, but it's hard to always be on your own with 3 kids. It makes the stress even worse. Then there's the stress of my music with an extra Christmas Eve service to plan for. I feel like hiding in a hole until the holidays are over! After my full melt down yesterday, I decided that I absolutely have to find a way to deal with all of this pressure. My house is a disaster and it's the big items that we're storing in my bedroom that really bother me! My bedroom is like a basement with boxes of everything we can't find a home for and big items like baby bouncy seats that I haven't used in over a year. I'm sick of it so my husband said we would spend today going through it. I also need some kind of physical stress relief so I've got to do some kind of exercise on a regular basis to let off some steam.
How do you deal with your stress?

Hi, I usually lurk on this board, but I totally hear you! I know how difficult these months are with extra expenses, school stuff and what not, and then bam, right into Christmas. I am going through a divorce, and I don't have much money, and I am so sick of going without and having my kids go without too. I really wish we could just skip right over Christmas and have it be Jan. already! I used to enjoy Christmas so much, now, I just wonder how I'm going to pay for it. I don't want to use credit cards, and I can't really anyway, as all of my cards are at or close to the limit.
I try to exercise everyday, and I think that really does help. I am fortunate to have a treadmill, and I try and go on it for at least 30 min. a day. Do you have any exercise equipment at home, or you could even find a cheap exercise video, or walk outside when it's nice. I do find this really does help me.
Hang in there, we will get through these months!

Hi Abby,
I've been feeling a little stressed lately too.
