Yeh, I noticed it yesterday, too.

I agree with Kate.
Are those folks really buying like there is no tomorrow, or are they buying less than last year?
My parents bought new family room furniture this week.
I was just at a store today, and one of the workers told me to hold off a purchase until Black Friday as these shirts I was looking at would be going down by $3 each (nice mock turtlenecks.)
I'm so jealous of black friday! In Canada the closest we have is boxing day (December 26th) but it doesn't do that much good when Christmas is over, lol. Although this year since my Dad isn't coming up until Dec 27th, I am going to hold off and get his gift boxing day. He really wants a nice belt and I know the perfect store to get it at!
I also agree that volumes of people doesn't mean spending tons. I have cut back my budget significantly this year and I am loving it. I only have to buy the stuff for the jars and chocolate spoons (splitting with a friend), a gift card for my mom (splitting with my sister), mom's stocking and boyfriends present. In total I probably have another $300 to spend and I still have $500 in my Christmas fund. Its good though because this could be an incredibly hard December for me!
