That's why I'm hesitant to do much with the sewing.

Hi Becky-

Ty for sharing your story...I'm really hoping things turn around...Its incredible that you all manage on one income of varying amounts.

I really like the costumes...

I'm not necessarily sure we are really managing but we have kept a roof over our head and as I tell me kids when food is running low -- we always have bread & water...at least always water.

Hey, Becky, I just wanted to say that I understand completely about not expecting the recovery from a 2003 layoff to take so long.

Becky, I totally understand what you mean by not having the non-food items, like TP, toothpaste, etc. covered.

I'm sure there are even more programs out there that I'm not aware of.

I've been on the board a little over a year, and I clearly remembered the part about Carolyn's surgery, but I did not realize how much of a toll it took on you physically.

We are trying....just basically holding onto the knot at the end of the rope swinging whichever way the wind blows but as long as we keep holding on, we will survive.

I think both Carolyn & I didn't realize just how bad she would deal with the pain, etc...

Hi Becky, I wanted to say it sounds like you are an amazingly strong woman your family is lucky to have! Also, I know how hard and long the road to overcome those obsticles can be, but like you, I know how great the generosity of the community is. In 2003, while it was just me and my oldest ds we lost everything in a house fire. It has been a roller coaster recovery, and in some ways we still haven't finished rebuilding our lives. It was really hard for me (who worked two jobs as a single mom) to ask for help, but my family/friends/community did it anyway. My family organized a surprise fire shower - kinda like a baby or bridal shower only all the decorations were fire trucks and hats - it was crazy sweet, but one of the most
