That is a good idea to advertise on Criags List to do mending, hems, sew on a new button, ironing, sewing on patches. I know that I would send stuff to people to do that. i am all thumbs when it comes to sewing. My mom does that stuff for me but if it wasn't for her I would be finding a seametress.
Maybe you could start the office cleaning by asking the people in the offices where your DH does side work?
I am a VERY long time lurker here--in fact, I do remember the actual layoff you went through back in 2003 or whenever it was! Since then, my DH and I have been through 3 layoffs combined ourselves and added 2 more kids and my youngest is in half day kindergarten, so I know how it is.
I would LOVE to work at Border's (I do believe I actually applied there ages ago but only put I wanted seasonal)....I would just be afraid, I would spend my entire paycheck there *scared*

I won't do childcare because the liability is just too high.

*blush* thank you but I don't think I'm doing anything that unusual that anyone with kids wouldn't do.

How about just taking in mending and ironing?

Becky,
This is hard stuff that I will say, but I really am saying it from a point of caring.
You are in debt and your husband is working really hard to make it work for your family.
I know my whining gets the best of me at times.

Well the economy is coming back, and the kids are getting older now.
I don't think you whine at all; in fact, I think your attitude is really positive.
