How do you feel about your debt?

I've been talking with a friend about this over a couple of days and it's remarkable to me how my own feelings can change from one day to another. You guys get an inside look on how I deal with it through my blog, but I'm just curious how everyone else feels. Does it get you down or are you feeling good about tackling it? I know there are a million ways other ways to feel - heck, I've probably felt most of them. How are you handling it? Do you find yourself feeling more hopeful or hopeless as time goes by?

ah ya...i would attribute about 2 hours minimum a day to racking my brain on how to lower my debt. i stare at balance transfer options...weighing them out and figuring if it's worth it or not. i look into additional jobs...which are hard to come by since my fulltime job is so demanding. it's very frustrating. i feel hopeless a lot...and angry because unlike many of you...i put this debt upon myself. i shopped too much, lived outside of my means, now i'm worthless. i'm only 25. i can bounce back. no family to support. as much as i rip myself apart because i got myself into this mess, i also am proud of myself to realize this is a problem and i know i'm getting out of it. slowly but surely.

Aw thanks. Ya it is a bit of a game. I'm trying! I love to cook and so does my boyfriend but we also have quite "snobby" taste buds and typically pick the best cuts, the freshest veggies, the rare spices, etc. Tonight as a little "welcome home" dinner (since we have been traveling for the past 2 weeks apart) I'm making spareribs & cabbage with some carrots.

We actually purchased 1/3 of a pig this year, got ALL types of pork cuts (even sausage) from the local butcher, the all cam to only $0.69 a pound. I mean we're talking loin, chops, ham, bacon, ribs...crazy huh?? Maybe sounds crazy to some...but we live in Vermont now and it's pretty standard. Good way to save money but my freezer is overloaded. You never realize how big a pig really is until you are receiving 3 HUGE cardboard boxes of cuts.
