Do you gifts to non-family members such as teachers, babysitters, mail carrier, hair dresser, newspaper carrier?
If so, what type of gift will they get?

Sharon
No, we don't give to the mail carrier or teachers.

We buy for my sons KG teachers. 3 in all. One is a specific sign language teacher just for the 3 hearing impared students in DS's class. This does not include DS but in the times that I've volunteered in my sons class I have viewed this sign language teacher assisting all the children - including my son so I decided to get her a little something.
I also got a $10 dunkin donuts card for my sons two different bus drivers. My son had a rough transition on the bus this year and the two drivers have been so kind and polite throughout the process. Because we were able to afford more this year we are giving to them.
No coworkers tho this year (got laid off) so that kinda helps the budget!~
I buy for one girl friend. We make chocolates for 4 people that are friends and neighbors. I bought two gift certs this year for two gentlemen that run errands for me at the store and I am proud to call my friends. I sent one teacher gift this year for an elementary teacher. I sell Avon and it was nice but something I just had and was not selling.
I give small gifts to my two close friends from work, but that's it, outside of family (there's enough family!). I also give gifts to the Teen Angel Tree, as well as donations to the local soup kitchen/homeless shelter.

Wow, much of my Christmas list is comprised of non-family.
