Once or twice a year I make a list, by going from room to room, of things that need or I want to do to maintain or update the house.

This is an area I really struggle with. I have not allowed myself to start this process because I need the new home first. I am living in a really old farm house and there is no point in making of list of things that need to be fixed or renovated because everything needs work. I also do not want to do any decorating or buy nice things because there is no point. I would have to see what the new home looks like before I could do any of that. It is depressing really. I just have to focus on getting that student loan paid off so we can start saving for a down payment.

As far as personal items go. I probably need new jeans, but I can't think of too much I need for myself at the moment. Oh wait. I need mascara LOL! The kids don't need anything right now. In fact, they will probably get things they don't need for Christmas!

Nope, no list here, or I would be totally overwhelmed and discouraged. I try to concentrate on one thing at a time. Right now, living room furniture. I am hoping that by the end of February we will have the money for this. Not sure what will be after that? There is so much that we would like to do. Fortunately at this time, our house is in pretty good condition. We would like to update, put there is nothing pressing at this time.

OK Stacy, this is funny. (read below)

1. Get outside faucet fixed. (It leaks and dh wasn't able to fix it himself so we'll have to hire a plumber to come out and fix that).

I have lists in my head, and DH and I casually discuss lists of things around the house, especially projects and semi- timelines, but nothing ever gets written down.

Same boat here, house is too small and has so much wrong I would need a lot to fix it up.

I keep warning my BF that when I get a new house things will be different and I will spend money. It will likely be a shock to his system. I'm ok with it! We will be in a better position to do so then as we will only have our mortgage. We will put extra on the mortgage too, and some into retirement, but I want to slowly decorate my house the way I want it. I won't use credit cards but I am pretty determined to do that!

My little house is fairly new (5 years old) and because I am a clean machine and a Tidy Todd I'm constantly upgrading and fixing things....

I love home things....but you prolly already know that...lol
