I have a tough week ahead

I am not looking forward to this week! It's 4 days before Christmas and DH will be gone on Monday and Tuesday. He'll be working his second job. It's an hour and 10 minute commute and we know people who live in the city so whenever he works there, he just stays overnight instead of wasting gas. But that leaves me all alone and I'm going to be so busy! I have 9 piano lessons in 2 days and with DH gone, that means I'm going to have to drop off kids at Grandma's work and then pick up the kids at her house after lessons are done, which will be around 8 o'clock at night. And Grandma's house is a half hour away. I'm not looking forward to that! Dh will get home late Tuesday night and then work his regular job on both Wednesday and Thursday and when he works...he WORKS. He's pretty much not available. He's been getting home at 4 o'clock lately and he has to go to bed by 7:00 just to get 5 hours of sleep! Then I have massive music preparations underway for the Christmas Eve service, not to mention the Sunday service that is just 3 days later! My choral song is failing dismally too. We have one more day to practice and at this point, I can't really change my selection. I'm stressing over that! On a good note, we finally put up our Christmas tree tonight. We couldn't find our ornaments at the in-laws house. Who knows where they put them or what happened to them. For all I know, they threw them out! So we went to walmart and bought some really cheap ornaments. We weren't even going to put up a tree but then I had the revelation that even on those years when my mom barely had a penny to spare, we always had a tree. I can't have my kids go through a Christmas without a tree. I let them put all the ornaments up too so they had fun. I just pray I can get through this week. As soon as Christmas Eve about 8 o'clock rolls around, I'll be breathing a sigh of relief! Phew!

Abbie, it sure sounds like you are going to be crazy busy this week! At least you have a goal in mind and can count down to quiet time. Hang in there, it will be new years before we know it.

Abbie -

Write your lists, plan your days, give the kids some videos to watch, and make a game of older ones watching younger ones.

8PM is not so late, you will be home by 9 and the kids can see grandma at Christmas, what a great opportunity to get closer with the grandparents.
