I am bummed out because I had to transfer $200 from savings (efund) to cover us for the rest of this week. We have spent a little more than normal (clearly that's expected this time of year, right?) and I bought some last minute gifts NOT on my list for my DH and I know he did the same for me.
BUT, (can I try to defend myself ??) my grandpa is going to give me $60 to pay me back for gifts that I bought my kids "from" him since he can't go out and shop. And my friend owes me $70 for concert tickets I just bought us. She asked if she could pay me in January and I know she will. AND, I floated my younger brothers part of my moms joint gift which was $120. He will pay me back in January too.
So technically that IS $250 out of my checking that I didn't have to cover these expenses.
So, its ok right???? I am feeling SOOOOO guilty about it but I need to get food for xmas eve supper so I had to transfer money. After transferring from savings we still have $3,700 in there. AND once I get paid from those people in January I will put the money back.
I am just feeling sad about the money (cuz I've been doing so good) and sad that my DH has to work xmas eve and day. :(

Sorry your hubby has to work Christmas eve and day though.
If you need one, I do TOO!

Ok, people owe you $250, and you took $200 from savings.
Everyone else has already said it, but I thought I'd say it too : good for you for having the savings, and since you will have the funds to repay it, I think it's fine that you borrowed it!
Truth be told, there were plenty of times when I had to borrow from the e-fund for something.

I agree its terrific that you have such good savings and most of the money you are getting back...
Don't feel bad you are doing great and whats an extra fifty here and there if you have savings...
Remember to enjoy the beauty of christmas
Merry Christmas...

OH that is no fun he has to work those hours. I feel terrible for you. You will get through it though and it sounds like he has a pretty good job so that is a bonus right? Gotta think positive here.
I don't know if I can give you heck because I am a premo little fund flipper myself! It sucks to have to take food money out of savings though? What if something happened to the car? Have you thought about boosting the efund for next year? It will balance in the next couple of weeks so don't worry.
You guys will be fine, out of debt and fancy free!!
