Biggest financial regret for 2009?

Maybe you bought something you wish you hadn't. Loaned money to someone you shouldn't have or perhaps waited too long to negotiate a bill.
What was your biggest financial regret for 2009?

I think honestly not working harder before I went on maternity leave to get the cc's paid off entirely. We had the money, but we just weren't disciplined enough with it. Hopefully as long as DH's job situation stays stable this year, the aggressive budget and payoff plan I have will work and we will have everything paid off this year.
For me it would be that I didn't give a hard enough warning to family members about not being a human ATM machine.
Other than that I have no regrets. We had a good year this year. We cashed in $20K from our MMA and paid the credit cards almost completely off this fall. That felt good and bad. Sad to lose half of what we had saved, but we were saving it for a rainy day and we figured that 23% and 29% interest on credit cards counted as a rainy day. Then we were able to refinance our house. The loan closed yesterday and we have a 30yr fixed rate of 4.625%. The broker whom we have known and worked with for 17 yrs said this is the lowest 30yr fixed rate loan she has done EVER. We also had to borrow money from my husband's 401K, but that is a loan to ourselves where we pay ourselves back with interest and it's taken directly out of dh's paychecks, so it should be fairly painless. The only problem will be if he loses his job we'll have to pay it back in 6 months or try to transfer it to a new 401K with a new employer (if possible).
Tonight after reading your posts I wrote out a schedule to complete the payoff of those ccs that are still remaining and it looks like those should be paid off by March and we should have a decent amount in savings for a "buffer".
The other problem we have is our insurance for my daughter. She's my 10 yr old standing behind her brother and sister in the picture below. She has a moderate expressive language disorder. While she does have speech therapy at school, it is not nearly sufficient, so we have private speech therapy as well. That is generally paid by insurance, but every 8-9 months we start getting denial letters and have to make appeals. Once we had to hire an attorney and that seemed to do the trick, but the denials are back, so it's another fight ahead. I feel like we have a decent case since I have a letter in my hands from them from March 2009 that says in their own words that she meets the definition of medically necessary, so it's odd that the Oct 2009 claim is denied for not being medically necessary. The hard thing is that we have to pay the SLP directly and then go for reimbursement because she doesn't bill insurance and I get why. It's a hassle! So, it comes out of pocket for months on end and then we get it all back once they finally approve.
I think that is it for me.
