Starting off 2010 with breathing room!

I've been looking forward to 2010 as the year we hopefully get ahead, and it's off to a very good start!
First, my Dec 31st paycheck was actually ON TIME. Miracle of miracles!
Second, we've been going through the process of a loan modification with our mortgage company, due to DH's underemployment and my salary cut this past year, and it's finally starting to come through. As part of the restructuring, our first payment on the "new" mortgage is paid ahead for February 1, and our next payment isn't due until March 1 - which means that, for the next two months, we will be able to pay all of our bills on my salary alone, and anything DH brings in is extra. This gives us valuable time to build up DH's income potential, and for me to find that better job, get that one paycheck ahead on our bills and maybe even pay off some extra debt! In addition, we plan to get our tax returns out in early February, so we should be receiving a refund sometime in March (we have so many business deductions that it's impossible to predict and adjust withholding, so we always end up with a refund).
I'm not quite sure what to do with myself if I don't have to pore over our budgets on an hourly basis...perhaps I should use that found time to find that new job, spend some quality time with my family, and take care of myself a little bit. :)

Breathing room sounds good!
I can't believe your check was on time! YAAYAYYYAAAYYY!
Congats again on the breathing room. I truly couldn't be happier over that bit of news if all that extra oxygen belonged to me! (((Hugs)))!
