1. Do you shop in thrift shops? If so, what kinds of items are you looking for? Are there a lot of thrift shops in your area? Have you saved money shopping in a thrift shop, or has it hurt you because you are shopping more? What do you like most about shopping in a thrift shop? What do you like the least about shopping in a thrift shop? If you do not shop in thrift shops, why do you not?
**I sometimes do. Honestly I haven't shopped much for myself of late. Sometimes I go but get disgusted with myself that size is much bigger and suffer with my old clothes that don't fit LOL. I like to buy blue jeans at these stores(there are a few around us) because it seems like blue jeans as so expensive.
2. What are your big plans for January? Do you have events to attend or activities you will be working on at home? Or are you going to lay low this month? Do you have plans to spend any big money this month?
**I went to my mom's Jan 1. It was New Year's day and her husband's birthday so it was a nice dinner. I brought a bottle of wine. I have a curling bonspiel in the middle of January I am looking forward to but other than that it will be low cost.
3. How do you feel about your job or your spouse's job for the coming year? Do you think you will be facing a layoff or a shutdown? Do you think things will be improving and you may be earning more? Are you looking for a new job or a new career despite the recession?
**As long as I can get through the winter I should be fine here at the store. My bf's job is secure I think and he may even get a raise. I may look into taking some courses in something I am interested in. We will see.

yes, I like thrift/charity shops, I even check them out when away on holidays. There are only 3 where I live but I do check them every couple of months. I tend to save money at them as I don't buy more often just because I'm paying less. What I like best is finding a great deal. What I like least is some stores have way too high prices. (I don't return to those ones)

My DH's job is secure (same job for 26 years) Mine is ok for the next year or so, but as I work in the Arts field and gov't is cutting back on funding, it may not be so secure in the next few years. But if I do get cut back on hours, I will just try to pick up some cash by sewing and doing some casual daycare.
