Mixing your own concrete

I’ve never really considered a profession in the field of construction but now, thanks to my second attempt at chilli in the Crockpot, I’m re-evaluating my career.
Yep, I’ve somehow invented a new version of concrete.

Oh Kate you crack me up!
I've never known someone to have such a problem with chili, lol. I have to ask what you put in it???
At least it tastes okay. That is the main thing! And as you said, it fills you up, so it should last a long, long time!!!

What are you doing to those poor beans?
OMG, I'm still laughing!!
Oh Kate I especially like the part about putting it in a sandwich bag! How did you heat it up at work?
Thank you Marie for giving her a recipe!
Good luck on your next try, whatever that might be? Does anyone have anything simple for Kate to try?
This is what we had for dinner last night:
1 small package of chicken legs: put 3 table spoons of olive oil in bottom of caserole dish. 350 degrees. Coat legs with oil by rolling them in it. Sprinkle on seasoning salt and pepper. Bake for an hour or 2 if desired.(I had my 12 year old do this with me watching and giving instruction so he would know how to do it.)
Broken up cooked spaghetti(after drained add 1-2 tablespoons of butter and a sprinkle of Parm cheese salt and pepper.
Steamed fresh brocolli. You can buy this frozen too.
My bf and I had 1 leg, noodles, and veg left for lunch the next day.
Good luck sweety....I am thinking of you!

Kate, I missed the armpit chili post last time around, but this one had my trying not to laugh out loud in my cubicle here at work. Goodness, you have to wonder if its your crock pot. So, I'll add my mom's recipe to the mix, she always uses the crockpot:
1 lb ground hamburger browned
1 can Heinz tomato juice (I think its 2 quarts or something close to that)
2 cans kidney beans
1 can hot or medium chili beans
chili spice as appropriate
simmer on low all day.
then we add in shredded cheddar cheese and oyster crackers into our individual bowls, I like mine extra cheesy. :-)
Thanks for the giggles!
Kate,
Dear Kate,
I am looking forward to your next batch of chili!!!
THANK YOU for the great laugh!!!!
(Do you have a crockpot or a kiln????
Oh, Kate, I read the heading of your post and thought "oh, no, she made chili again!"
Too funny! :)
If the construction career doesn't work out, consider writing! That was a really nicely told, well-written story.
