Goals for January.....

OK, so I posted about my 2010 goals but since Christmas I've been feeling pretty crummy about my financial status. Just b/c we (when I say we, I mean dh!) splurged a little around Christmas and didn't save or pay very much extra towards our debts. Well, after taking a look at my budget for January, I think this is going to be a GREAT month!!

In January I plan to get my EFund up to $1500 (its at $300 now)

Simple little goals here. I just want to flake a little bit to the appliances. Because of some of my extra spending over Chirstmas (read splurging on myself!) January is a pretty flake free month. I will have little bits here and there.

My goal is to get my paperwork in order so that I can file my taxes as soon as all my forms come in!

I don't have very lofty goals this much. At this point, we are still up in the air with DH's job situation, and even how much he is making per hour at the moment (on Monday, payday, the boss just handed him $400 in cash for 3 days of work last week). And other than the $20 he handed me this morning, I haven't even seen any of that cash, so I'm not counting it in our budget even as income. Soo, I am a bit stressed about even making bills this month. So, my goals for this month are to pay all the bills in full and on time and not touch our small little EFund (currently $581.37).

I have 3 goals for this year. One of them is to pay off the cemetery plots we bought years ago. (it was a 8 year plan and I've been tripling the payments all along so hopefully it will be paid off this year). Second, is to pay off the stupid and I mean STUPID car/personal loan thing we did (can you say stupid once more??). We have just a little bit over 5k to pay on it and I think it's doable to pay off this year. And lastly, to increase our emergency fund as much as humanly possible. After last years no paychecks for 3 months (as DH is the sole breadwinner in the house) and living off of unemployment and some miscellaneous money we had, I want to increase that fund by A LOT!!

Sound like a plan to me. Those stupid credit cards can wait. Don't get me wrong, I pay the minimums on them and maybe some extra when we can but I'm not going out of my way to pay them off just yet.

Your goals are great Amanda, just be careful and don't give up if you do exceed 100%.
