Really Struggling today

with sadness. I'm not exactly sure what it is (other then the time of year and all the changes I have been going through, lol). Financially I'm in great shape. I'm doing better now then I have in years. But mentally I'm just not there. I wasn't feeling well and spend most of yesterday on the couch :( I'm sure that didn't help.

How to you get the motivation to keep going when feeling like this? Anyone have any coping strategies??

(as a side note, I am on medication for anxiety and it should start to kick in in the next week or so. Hopefully that helps!)

I have alot of that too Bex. Mainly I try to remember this too will pass and I try to focus on things I have to be thankful for. I 'm a nurse so many times it only takes me going in to work to see how much I have to be happy about.

I also have a hard time allowing myself to just veg out sometimes on the couch....I feel guilty or something about it. But there's times it helps me more than I realize to just rest!

Hope you start to feel better. Your not alone!

Remember that you will need some extra R and R to recover from your anxiety. Your body is in "fight or flight" mode when you are anxious. This will exhaust you mentally and physically. So, perhaps you needed the time to just rest. I would suggest getting some moderate exercise even though it can be really hard when you don't have the energy to even get off the couch. Even a 15 minute walk might make you feel a little better.

Bex,

I agree with the PP - try taking a short walk.

Thanks ladies! Just having people care enough to post really helps.

I took your advice. I got up and cut the dog's nails and then took them for a 30 minute walk to help dull them (just cut nails are so dang sharp!!!). I made a healthy lunch (homemade soup and salad), got chicken out for dinner and even put a load in the wash!

Now I just have to convince myself to go downstairs and do my physio exercises. If I can get that done, I'll consider this a great day!

Bex I thought of you when I posted a link under the inexpensive or free cheer-up ideas. Since you like dogs, I suspect you will really get a kick out of it.

Only warning I have on it, is do not take a drink of anything as you are opening it!!

Get a girl movie, and a bottle of wine and cry your eyes out! It just gets things moving.

Take care Bex!
