I thought it might be a good idea to start a thread like this, January and February can be so tough. A few things that cheer me up:

A walk or a bike ride, even if I don't want to leave the house

A good book or audio book

Manicure/pedicure at home--even just filing my nails so they look and feel better.

A bubble bath

Incense and candles

New music...free from the library

Watching a movie, again free from the library

Clearing out my clutter (ongoing battle)

A good craft project of any type...making a collage, sewing anything, knitting or whatever; anything that engages the brain in a creative capacity.

Anyone care to add any ideas?

LOL - you took all of my ideas!

A friend and I swap learning crafts. She learned to knit so she taught me. I learned to do cake decorating so I am teaching her. That sort of thing. :)

I also looooooooooooove going to the library. Free magazines, books, DVDs and so much more. Such great programs for the kids. Our library has so much to offer - I am so excited about it and hope other people explore their libraries too.

Also, I love cleaning out one thing a day. (I am unemployed so I have time.) Tomorrow is my pantry. Sometimes its as simple as the shelf above my closet. I throw sweaters and jeans up there and it often gets cluttered. But it makes me feel so good to clear it out!

We have a membership to a gym and that is a really great way for us to get some entertainment without going out of our budget with kids. We will go swimming some weekends for 2 hours, the pool is really warm witch is a nice break from MN winters. They also have free excercise classes that I like to go to and my daughter (3 years old) has just began going to the dance classes. I also feel like we are saving money on swim lessons because pre-gym membership, I paid for swimming lessons
