I am discouraged, losing sleep, stressed out and at my wit's end...Credit card debt..I obtained this debt by helping my daughter for a couple of years.

You are very honest and correct...

She is as broke as I am...She could get a second job...Seriously I don't think she would...

I have learned a valuable lesson the hard way...I need to start thinking more of what I need to do to take care of myself, instead of worrying about her situation all the time...

Maybe I have helped her too much...

You sunk yourself into debt to help out your daughter and yet she filed for bankruptcy????

Sorry, but I'm at a loss for words.

Hi G,

Checking in hoping you got somewhere with the agency.

I'm hoping there is some way a freeze on the interest can be done or lower minimum payments can be adjusted to get those payments to count.

I was reading another post and some one mentioned they called the cc's hardship department and that is how she was able to get some wonderful relief. With your health issues and widow issues/only parent issues, perhaps that will get them to work with you and not against you.

Hang in there!

Still hanging in there....I have an appointment with the counseling center tomorrow to go over my fianances and decide what to do..

I may have to let the credit card companies go if they don't lower their interest rates, stop the late fees, etc....If they won't work with me, than I have no choice.

I will be paying on this debt forever without the principal balance going down....

Thanks for asking...

Hi Glynda,

Thanks for writing, sorry it has taken me so long to read your reply, I just got it today.

I think it's great that you are moving forward with your life.

I know I had problems managing being a widowed single mother and had to walk from a bad business deal which caused me to turn to cc to get by. I lived through it.

At the time, debit cards were just invented and made cc obsolete and that is how I was able to keep my credit problems a secret from the world. I just used my debit card when ever a cc was required.

Now my credit report a free of my past. These things happen to the best of us. Glad two of the cards went to zero interest, great!

Best of luck with your new home!

There are legal things you can say to them. Know your rights. There is a way to look up your rights so you can site them when they call you.

Does anyone here remember what I am referring to?
