Whats for supper?

Tonight is chicken legs again. I read in Marie's post that she puts lemon pepper on her chicken dish so I might try that to mix it up a bit. I have potatoes and I might do raw veges or some cooked frozen ones. I have not decided yet.

I don't know what to cook tomorrow, which is why I am posting as I might get some ideas. I do have a craving for pasta with meat sauce though. Although I don't have any more hamburger so that isn't going to work. I might try that french onion soup again and add some more too it for flavor.

What are you cooking?

We're having deer stew or something like that...I have deer steaks so I may just cut it up and cook it in some gravy & serve with mashed potatoes...

Yesterday we had pulled pork buns with home made fries...easy pork (throw roast in the slow cooker with some bbq sauce & beef broth then pull it apart) but the fries were tons of work...but worth it, satisfied my fry craving for the week!

Just a thought for you...DH is Italian, so we make pasta with any kind of meat...cut (cheap) steaks up into cubes, or cubed chicken...or shredded cooked chicken, ground turkey or pork...

Well, it's just me tonight, and the doggies. I don't think I want Pedigree, so I might go for another can of tomatoe soup and a salad with lite ranch.

When I have leftover chicken I turn it into meet for tacos or burritos. Buy some tortillas and salsa and it's dinner!

Sometimes I buy caesar dressing and put the chicken, salad dressing, and whatever veggies are on hand into a wrap.

I am on a kick about making the groceries go farther. Tonight is chicken, rice and mushrooms, and spinach. I saw a recipe for spinach and cheese wrapped in lasagna noodles that I may try, since I have a huge container full of fresh spinach.

Just some thoughts!

Last night we had hot dogs because I had forgotten to get anything out and my freezer is running low. Tonight we are having my last supper super meal that I bought, Chicken parmisean with noodles. Tomorrow night, not entirely sure yet, though I do have some extra meat sauce left over from the lasagna I made this weekend and I might pasta to go with it, thanks for the suggestions ;-).

General Tso's chicken, rice (purchased in bulk so super cheap), veggie stir fry (thanks to the garden), homemade egg rolls, and Caesar salad, not that it goes with the Chinese menu at all, LOL. It's actually one of our more expensive meals, but enough to feed all 7 of us is still less than $15.

Tried a new recipe tonight and it was yummy! :) "red beans and rice salad" We bought 10 cans of beans at once a few weeks ago because they were on sale. Been working our way through them. I searched all day at work for kidney bean recipes. This recipe was basically brown rice (1/2 cup uncooked, so 1 cup cooked), a can of dark red kidney beans, a small red pepper diced, and about 1/2 cup of diced onion. We sauteed the onions a little, and warmed up the beans and pepper in a pan (the recipe actually didn't call for that, it had everything raw). Mix the everything in with the brown rice and then mix in a dressing that is half balsamic vinagerette, half fresh lime juice. Serve over a whole wheat tortilla. Healthy, cheap, yummy! Perfect amount for 2 people, with a little leftover for someone's lunch tomorrow. Lot's of tortillas leftover since they came in a pack of 8. But we will use them up somehow.

The recipe was from Vegetarian Times Magazine. They have a ton of recipes available for free online.
