I calculate my flake based on the extra money over the minimum payment. ie min $25 i pay $60

=60-25

=$35 flake

Is that how you do it? Does it matter?

yeah - I myself have learned the hard way too.

I actually have altered my due dates so I know I will not run into that problem. Some cards you can pay online and it will credit but usually you have to pull it out 24 hours prior to the date for proper crediting to your account.

I starting moving the dates up in my day planner 3 - 5 days (depends on weekends and so on.
I actually have found that by moving up the due dates I am now literally waiting for the cc company to update my statement and paying it the day the statement is available online (updated with that lovely finance charge...grrrr) However, it's a nice relief to know that card is out of my hair for 28 days and I can flake toward it if I can.

Credit Cards just plain bite !!!

That stinks!

But yes, that's what I consider a flake. Anything above the minimum amount due. I don't have CC, but it works the same with our installment loans!

Yes, in my eyes that's a very good flake.
