So you only spend $150 dollars for a grocery trip that's going to last you 3 weeks? HOW did you do that? Maybe it's because I have a family of 5 and 4 of them are boys and I live in a small space and don't have room to store anything, but I spend somewhere between $120-150 each week for groceries.

If you are only buying every 3 weeks, how to you go about getting the perishables like milk, eggs, bread, fruit, veggies? I'm super interested to hear how you save so much money. Teach me!

Well I have dh buy bread from a bakery that is local to where he works for about .75 a loaf and I freeze it.

2 doz eggs will last about 3 weeks here and milk I buy 2 gal and depending on the weeks can last about a week and some days I do have to go buy that again.

Fruits and vegggies...those green bags you hear about are fab... at times I do have to get more because we go through it...but not often!

I have found a great base for soups like cream of potato, brocoli cheese. tomato, squash, mushroom that I LOVE and when I make soup (often with the cold) that can last us 2 dinners and usually dh takes it for work 1 day I also make a meatless chili that lasts the same and DH LOVES these.

I have been clipping the coupons and recently trying to find coupons on line too.

Good job on the groceries...every little bit counts! We just switched our auto ins to the company that does our house & rental ins also; we are paying less for the auto AND got 15% discount on the house..pays to shop around!
