Weekend Meal Plans?

Today we are finishing the last of the caserole left overs for lunch.

I did a big shop last night and spent 11 more dollars that I wanted to but got a lot of food and a free lasagna with a coupon!

Tonight I am craving spaghetti and meat balls. I will probably freeze some of the meatballs I make for another time. There will probably be left overs for lunch the next day. I have some bacon out i need to cook so why not have bacon and eggs Saturday morning! Saturday night I have not decided what to make yet?

I think Sunday I will cook a ham and then we can have lunch meat for the following week for few days.

Marie I would love your pea soup recipe. Does it need a ham bone? I don't think my ham has a bone.

I am late posting, but last night we used left over chicken and pasta, threw together some quick low fat alfredo style sauce (I use low fat chicken broth, lf cream cheese, broccoli, roasted red peppers and some ground black pepper) with garlic bread and a house salad (a favorite at our house as it is delicious and takes less than 20 min from fridge to table). Breakfast this am - cereal as I had to work; lunch will be left overs either above or we have some chicken fajitas and pierogies; dinner - homemade pizza and wings - I can't wait! Sunday breakfast - dh makes his scramble - eggs with peppers, onions, cheese and usually ham or sausage

Bex,

I don't know but to me split pea soup is with ham, not beef. It needs the flavor of the ham bone to make it what it is.

*recipe for Kate*

Here's the link to the original recipe - http://vegetarian.about.com/od/maindishentreerecipes/r/beanbake.htm?p=1

That makes 8 servings, which I found to be too much for 2 people.

I also scored at the grocery store tday, Ribeye steaks were on sale and I picked a package in which teh steaks were sliced half their normal size. Got 5 on sale for about $12.00. Thanks Marie! I found the peas!! I am going to try it with beef. Since I've never had it either way, I don't know what it SHOULD taste like, so as long as its palatable, that's all I'm concerned about, lol.

I made the roast yesterday BUT it didn't fit in my slow cooker :( I've only ever made it that way. I tried to call my Mom but she wasn't home. So I started calling my Aunts, lol. Luckily I have access to 7 "Mom's" (aka Aunts) who all cook and were able to talk me through it. I also made garlic mashed potatoes (first time ever) and gravy (first time ever).

Today I'm going to try the soup and see how it goes!

If I had beef I would do a vegetable soup, never pea soup.
