Things like this do make us realize that that retirement can be closer than we think. But I also think it is fantastic that you have been at the same place for so long. I used to think I could never stay at one place longer than 5 years but when I got my most recent job I started thinking "I could really see myself staying here until I retire" and I am only 38!
Who knows what the future holds, our tomorrow's could change everything right?
One incentives I have to stay where I am is that if you have been here 10 years and you are at least 55 when you retire* -you are allowed to stay on the company's health insurance for the rest of your life and only pay the employee rate.
