How is your weeking looking $$??

I have a wedding to go to this weekend. I am sort of looking forward to it but it won't be cheap. We need to get an oil change on the car, presentation for the wedding and probably lunch in the city.
I have no idea what to make for supper tonight. I am feeling grilled cheese and soup. I would like to make a casserole on Sunday and something nice for supper. I will have to see what I have in my freezer. It is full so I should have no problem. Perhaps a soup on Sunday too. I like the idea of the soup and the caserole because then we have options for lunches the next week even though it looks like I make a lot food.
What does everyone have on their plate? ha ha ha. I am so funny today!

Im really looking forward to a musical weekend...
Galpal 2 loves to dance so we are going to a club tonight
Well it's not starting off good....lol.
Honestly my weekend could go either way money wise and it is stressing me out a bit.
The good news is that my brother and sister in law invited DH and I over for pizza at their house and also invited my parents - so we had a nice family pizza night and I got to see my niece which is my favorite thing to do! I always offer to split the bill with my brother whenever we do something with my parents - sometimes he accepts and sometimes not - tonight when I went to hand him cash he told me not to worry about it. It all comes out in the end but right now it was nice to not have to pay out more cash for anything.
The other good news is that I am babysitting tomorrow night and should be able to make about $75. Honestly I don;t know how any family can afford to pay that much to a sitter but they are great to me and it is a wonderful "extra" job.
The part that is stressing me out is Sunday- DH has decided to have a Superbowl party/gathering. There will be about 15-20 people and I almost freaked out when he told me - we are NOT paying to feed that many people. But he calmed me down some when he told me that everyone was bringing something - but still we all know how these things go - the costs add up and I am not happy about this (in fact if I could get away with not being here I would!). Our bills are split - he pays some and I pay some and he has assured me that he will be able to pay his on time - but I am still worried.
I know he just wants to have a some fun and kick back - and have some friends over who have not seen our new house yet - but really I am not looking forward to this - or to the impact on our budget that it will have. I will NOT be happy if I have to hand over the money I made babysitting so we can cover his bills.
When we are smart we might be more boring but the budget works and I much prefer that to stressing over finances.
Oh Smoochie I know exactly how you feel! So many ppl haven't seen our house yet but I can't afford to have ppl over! everytime a relative comes to town, the relatives from within an hour descent upon our house & expect a good ol' Italian dinner! So now we have no one over, and we wanted to have some ppl over this weekend but the thought of all that food! "Everybody'll bring something" from a man doesn't quite equate to my brain...well WHAT are they bringing? What do WE need to bring? lol. Hopefully it works out well for you! Maybe the not paying tonight & the babysitting money will equate for the Superbowl party?
To anyone who is worried about clutter, I recommend Flylady (am I allowed to recommend stuff like that here?) Awesome, simple, no nonsense approach to de-cluttering. Helped me A LOT when we bought DH's house off his parents - and they had split up and both left EVERYTHING in the house...talk about clutter!
For all of that call your weekends "boring"...I long for the day that my weekends are boring. Even when I'm at home 5 kids keep me hopping all weekend long...I actually look forward to dayhome on Mondays because it's more organized lol!

Melissa part of me is intrigued to see exactly what we end up with for food when I leave it to my DH and 10 of his friends to bring something. I can almost guarantee that it will be something ordered from the italian place up the street and a string of chips, pretzels and other "man food" - oh and beer don't forget the beer.
Oh and the kicker is he is connecting a TV up in the garage so they can watch the game aroud the fire pit - HOW NEANDERTHAL is that? LOL and have I mentioned I live in Massachusetts where it is aboout 20 degrees max at night?
Ew..I am going to make sure I have some veggies, cheese and crackers and wine for myself - I found a great bottle of wine for under $10 that I really like - Oyster Bay Sauvignon Blanc.
Sometime we have to just let men be men.......I just have to keep reminding myself - his bills are his bills (and I will ring his neck if he goes over budget!)
