What a spendy day :(

Several of the lightbulbs in my bathroom vanity were out. Two other bulbs also went out upstairs AND my kitchen light went out. All three were different types.

So off I go to the store. $20 for bulbs! They were, of course, all different (odd) sizes. I got home, morphed into my handywoman self and changed them. The kitchen light still didnt' work. On further inspection, I realized the light had melted

Some days the house is just expensive even when it is nothing too major. Owning our new home it never hit me in the beginning that it can really be the day to day of homeownership that can tank my budget. New shades set me back a bunch a few months ago and I am not talking about anything fancy - all from Target but when you have 22 windows it can still add up!

I hope the vacuum repair isn't too much!

Humph. Well, I just spent $100 on a new filter and filter bags and it STILL doesn't work (granted I needed the new filter, it was disgusting and ripped). I think I there is

Agg I know all about the lightbulbs! 5 kids (4 apparently don't know how to turn lights off, and the 5th one is just discovering how much fun it is to turn them on & off), playroom/dayhome that has 2 fixtures for a total of 6 bulbs (and its in teh basement so we need those bulbs!), and 4 bathrooms! They are the bane of my existence!

Maybe you need to get a furnace cleaning co in to clean the ducts?
Sorry to hear about it. I have central vac in the house (but no hose etc was provided to us when we bought in 2008) .... but I have a Dyson & that's all I use lol
Hope this doesn't sink the sinking fund!
