transunion keeps changing my name

How can I keep up with the changes TransUnion makes and also to keep them from introducing errors into my information? I know I can subscribe to one of their expensive services, and maybe that is their goal. But I should not have to do that, and they should be required to make some efforts to keep the info accurate.
I need info on how to keep track of the errors Transunion keeps making on my credit information. I got my free report in October and found they have my name wrong!. They also had 2 “other names” which were completely wrong. They also had 10 accounts that were not mine (mostly in bad standing). I submitted a request to have the information corrected and within about a month, they had corrected my name and removed the 2 “other names” and all the incorrect accounts. Well, it’s the next calendar year and I requested the free annual report. This time they completely changed my name to one of the “other names” they had removed 2 months ago and I am no longer on my own credit report! I have submitted another request for investigation, etc in accordance with their instructions. But I am sure the idiots there will continue to make wrong (and damaging) changes. I know I can subscribe to one of their expensive services, and maybe that is their goal. But I should not have to do that, and they should be required to make some efforts to keep the info accurate.

I've just this second finished emailing Experian about my credit report - they've included three checks from the same card company (each a week after the other) when I applied for a 0% interest card. The check should have been made once, and having three checks for a credit card so close to each other is knocking about 100 points off my credit score. They've also changed one of my addresses to their own version of the 'official' address - which is to say they've linked me to a property and family that I know has not a very good credit history, rather than the flat I was actually renting from them, which is listed as separate with the council. Annoyingly, the flat is called 'The Flat' rather than having a number, which maybe what's confused them - but still, the wrong address is linked 11 times!

I don't know - people seem incapable of just typing the information in correctly - and rather than check if they're unsure, they just make something up. It's really frustrating, especially when you're trying to claw back up the score scale. More frustrating that it makes me suspect that the other two credit check companies used here in the UK are making similar, damaging mistakes. But I'd have to pay to keep track of them constantly. I think you're right - it is a way of getting us to pay up for info about ourselves.

Equifax had my name confused with someone of the same name in Georgia - I have never lived in Georgia. That woman had 3 children, and was behind on most of her accounts and was delinquent in her rent at one place. I wrote to Equifax, sent a copy with all the changes, via certified letter, and they did remove the information. I had to also include a copy of my driver's license.

One place even gave me the other woman's full name, names of her kids and even her social and workplace! Your information is not protected!

I have the TransUnion monthly program because I had to watch some accounts to be sure my Ex was paying mortgages properly on rental properties he got in the divorce (to give him additional income.) He sold them last year, but I kind of am addicted to seeing my balances going down.
