I'm from Canada so this may not apply, but I don't think it will matter. I got a car loan when I still had CC debt and it didn't do anything. I would suggest avoiding getting the loan through the dealer if you can. Their interest rates are through the roof compared to conventional loans (you may even be able to get a cheap line of credit loan if your house is paid off!)
