Lol, this is a big deal for me! I haven't gotten my hair professionally cut or coloured in over 3 years! The last time was in 2006!! Egads! (I did go to a stylist to cut it off when I donated it, but she just cut it and trimmed the ends for me). I love it!

Total cost was $100. I had saved that money as extra from my jars over

Good for you! Doesn't it feel great to pamper yourself? I think when you only do those little things -- hair color, mani-pedi, facial -- once in a blue moon it make them much more special. When you do stuff like that, or even mindlessly buying clothes, all the time it is less meaningful.

Our family used to go out of town on big and little trips a lot (probably why we're in so much debt, groan) and after awhile the kids would see them as great big yawns. We hadn't gone anywhere in a long time as we are trying to be frugal and recently went to a fancy hotel about an hour away from home for my daughter's piano competition. It was a five-star ultra luxury place that usually costs about $400 a night which we got at the group rate of $130. We only stayed one night and brought our food in (nothing like traipsing through the hotel with our McDonalds bag) but it was really fun and the kids loved it. I think it was because it had become rare.

Sometimes you've just got to do nice things for yourself.

Oh Bex that is great! That is so nice you could flip yourself a treat like that.

I take it for granted sometimes that my sister is hair dresser out of her home and I haven't paid for a cut or color in forever. I need to go see her btw!

Your spa day, I suggest a pedi at the very least. It is so important to take care of your feet. And I know you are active and that can be hard on the old tootsies.

I told my bf's mom we would go but have not had a chance. I should just book the appointment!! You have inspired me! I just made myself a sticky note. I am the sticky note queen! This would be just the pick me up I need when all my friends are in Mexico.

Enjoy!

Way to go, you deserve it!

I like massages at spas, then I go home for a restful nap. Unplug your phone once you get home to keep it stress free and luxurious.

Great self-care!

That's awesome....so jealous...I'm a fake blond & it costs me $165 to get mine done...once the budget gets balanced we *should* have a sinking fund for it, & I know I'll appreciate it so much more than I used to lol!

I totally agree with the pedi. Or a mani, sometimes being able to see nice pampered nails/hands is a stimulus to positive thoughts!

This tickled me when I read it, Why does hair have the power like that? My DD and I both do hair on the side so it is not really a luxury anymore to us ( kind of like more work after a long day) but we are glad to not have to pay for it.
New hair- New Woman - --New job? fingers are crossed. enjoy your new do and good luck with the interview. about the spa - If you are able to go before you have your interview, consider an eyebrow shaping and manicure I don't know what prices are like by you but you might be able to get a facial too. You would look very polished.
If you go after the fact, I would have to say massage, my fav.
