Expenses associated with interview?

Some of you have more experience with interviews then I do . . . so help!

I got the call, they want me next Friday (a week tomorrow). I'm trying to think of the expenses that I need to pay for.

1) Gas for the trip home. Not huge deal. I will get paid next wednesday and part of that is $40 for gas and my tank is still 3/4 full with no plans to go far before then.

2) Dry cleaning. Both my business suit and my wool coat need to be dry cleaned to look presentable (there are salt stains everywhere)

3) Briefcase/Satchel? What do you think? Do I bother getting one of these? Currently I use a backpack to carry everything around . . . not professional I know. My other option is to just carry the files I will bring and use my purse which matches my coat (what I am leaning towards).

Anything else I need to account for?

I say a file folder is fine. You will impress them with the research you have done. Then ask for the brief case for Christmas or a birth day from dad if you still want one.

Just my opinion. Good luck!

I woke up with a really positive vibe today, like something good was going to happen. Sometimes these vibes are not actually for me but seem to happen for someone around me. Since nothing good happened for me maybe this vibe was actually yours. I'm sending it out to the universe just in case.(I read that in that book "The Secret" that you just have to put what you want out to the universe) I haven't had a lot of interview experience myself but my daughter has been interviewing lately (got a job 2 weeks ago, YAY) She was kind of unsure about how to carry her papers as well but didn't need a briefcase, I found a leather portfolio at Office Max on clearance for about 12 bucks it was 1/2 price because it had a 2009 calender insert in it, she didn't need that part anyway. She was glad to have it because she said that it looked a little nicer than what some of the other applicants had, and it wasn't bulky or awkward to use. I don't know if you have that store by you but it came in black, brown and a burgundy color. It wasn't a waste because she is still using to transport papers that she needs to bring home and wherever else. Another thought.. I don't know what you are using to print your resume on but I bought a package of a really nice heavy weight paper, in a very light cream color, I'm sure it didn't make a difference in the end but it looked really sharp compared to the basic paper she had been using. I bought it at the same office supply store and of course it was a lifetime supply. I will gladly mail you some if you think it would get there in time, otherwise I found out after the fact that Target had some nice choices in much smaller packages for just a few bucks. Her other strategies were simple stud earrings and a nice looking watch and make sure your shoes are not scuffed up. Per DD, A lesson learned the hard way-- mapquest the location if you don't already know it, allow twice as much time as you should to get there and make sure you have change for tolls if needed (All she got out of one interview was ticket) Also one interview turned into a lunch so maybe make sure you have some pocket money. Good luck
