Good Saturday morning, I just wanted to give you a pat on the back for not falling off the wagon. I know it is hard to keep the wagon on the trail...I have spent the three pay periods so far this year figuring how far off the trail I have gone and getting back on the wagon and the trail...
I have focused on paying the bills each pay period and also figuring out what I **need** to spend out of the check each pay period, and how much is reasonable when I need gas, food, etc. I've set myself budget amounts for things like the thrift store (where I love to go) and I am sticking to them.It is hard, but it is rewarding so far. I have never planned how my money gets spent before.
One thing I have found that really helps is that I have learned to look forward to the next pay period while I am "naming" the dollars from the current one. I have a post-it note on my calendar for the next payday that already maps out the committed expenses that I have to pay...it's helping me not to blow it.
I am going to have to move again soon too...and I am trying to get rid of as much unnecessary stuff as I can...but I find it very difficult too. Good luck with your sorting.
