LOL! My life is so silly. What an odd spot to be in. Is there anyone else paying down student loans and saving for their kid's education at the same time?

I don't mind do either of these things actually.

My dad helped me go to school so I want to help my kids, even if it is not completely it will take some of the burden off.(my ex is saving the same amount).

And my dear BF. In June we traded in his car and got a new one. We had a bunch of money saved up together we were going to put towards a down payment on the car but got offered zero percent. So we did the trade in and used the savings to pay off (just about) the rest of my personal credit line debt. Oh that sounds like such a life time ago. I love it. So I have no problems helping.

It will be great to get these two goal all done so we can start saving for a house. We are thinking of an RTM. Dreaming is fun!

I so know where you are coming from. I am not finished with mystudent loans yet (they are currently in deferment - I was a non-traditional student) and my oldest son will be off to college in two years! In 2003 I had a nice egg of 8000+ saved for him, but when we lost our home in a fire, we had to pull every resource we had to survive and rebuild, so now I have a big fat
