First a little history. I lost my job on December 22, 2009. Merry Christmas to me!. Found a temp job for January. Moved back in with my parents on Feb. 6. Happy birthday to me!. I'm in college full-time, have been since July 2009. Going to have my Associates for Paralegal in December 2010. I also use to work full-time, plus overtime. It feels weird having free time.

I have finally broke down and decide to take Nursing Assist class, to get my certification. There is a rest home and hospital in my parents' small town (1300 pop), both within walking distance.

I know it is hard right now, but honestly really good people are landing and keeping jobs.

Having two diplomas makes it easier to get a job now, and in the future. This is very practical. Good for you!

good luck with your program, I think its a great idea, there is always a need for CNA s , I work in health care for my full time job and people can be a real pain but I always try to remember that someday I will need care or my mom etc. So I always try to be the way that I would hope someone would be with me if I needed assistance, the empathy will come when you think of yourself not being able to do basic things like wash yourself. I also try to remember that for some people that are not critically ill this is their moment to shine - they may not get attention normally so they require an audience for their dramatics, if you just give it to them they feel really well cared for. And of course some people are just always miserable they were probably that way their whole life:)
