I'm talking about literally falling apart vs. monetarily.

I've so been there. For me, it was during a deployment and the garage door, the garbage disposal and the washer all went out at once....I feel for you.

If you get a chance to get a new washer, you might want to check out Lowes or Best Buy. They seem to have the occassional open container item that is big time marked down.

If your hubby is handy, he might be able to see what it is in the garage door opener that died. On the old one we had, we were able to replace the gears a couple time for @ $10 and we nursed it for a couple additional years.

Gosh Becky I'm sorry everything seems to be imploding :(

At least none of it is essential (heat, water, lights). Not that it makes it any easier to deal with.

I've been all over the map lately . . . has there been any news on the job front for DH? I'm trying to catch up on all the posts!

I think I'm the epitomy of "If it weren't for bad luck, I wouldn't have any luck at all" lately.

I feel your pain - between the dryer & the furnace I'm wondering what else can go wrong in my house!

My dishwasher handle broke about 6 weeks ago so I'm the only one that can open it now - not crucial but it sure is a PITA when everyone leaves the dishes on the counter bcs they can't open it!
My dishwasher doesn't wash well either - and sometimes doesn't even drain. A couple times it's flooded my kitchen floor. There's days I have to wash glasses again bcs they come out all cruddy...
So ya, I feel your pain. I hope things get better for you!

Oh Becky, I hope things turn around for you.

If I had a dishwasher that was part of the wall with the counters I would probably use it more. I only use our portable one when the kids are home for long stretches. Otherwise I wash them by hand. Occasionally BF will help. Honestly, I find it kind of soothing. I don't know if it is the warm water or zoning out while I do it or what. I have a dish tray and drip dry unless I fill up the tray and the next sink and I still have dishes to place. Then I start drying and fill up the sink again. I wash the dishes better than the dishwasher anyway and it saves on power. The glasses always come out spotless when I do it and the silverware too(no extra hunks of peanut butter or what have you if the pieces are too close together).

I am thinking of you and DH and the kids Becky. Good luck!

Geez, Becky, you do sure seem to have a bunch of things imploding on you at once.
