Hello all,

As you may remember, I have a sweet dog who I love to death who is gluten intolerant. As a result, I spend $80 for a bag of food that lasts her about 5 weeks give or take.

I had signed up for a loyalty program through the pet store. Buy 10 bags, get one free. Well yesterday I went to buy some more ( it was my 7th bag) and they informed me that they were changing the loyalty program. Instead of buying 10 it was now 12 and I was to keep the UPCs and send directly to the company (before they just stamped a card). Hmph.

Good deal!

I would go for the extra training. I have had dogs in the past and none of them ever listened to me LOL! This way you could say at least you tried and it might work!

Good luck.

What kind of dog do you have? I'm assuming a small breed if it takes that long to get through a bag of food...lol....I have a Siberian Husky & I'm lucky if a bag lasts 3 weeks AND because he's an outside dog, in winter we have to feed him 1-2 cans every day as well.

Awesome that you got the free bag - I'd honestly be searching for a new pet store if they changed a loyalty program like that. What a PITA - I bet they're banking on people being too lazy to actually send the UPCs in!

How awesome - an $80 savings!

What kid of pup do you have - I have a 10 year old Lab and just had to change her food too and I know what you mean about cost. She eats like a Queen let me tell you that.

What kind of food do you have to feed her for her allergies?

Thanks for the thoughts guys!

I have two dogs, but they get different foods (since feeding both of them the gluten free stuff would bankrupt me). Kita is a husky/retriever/shepherd (about 45lbs) and is gluten intolerant. She gets 2.5 cups a day (the good thing about the food is that it is high calorie because there is no filler). Toby is a husky/retriever/kuvaz mix (about 60lbs) with no allergies (bless him) but no leash manners!

I feed Kita Wellness Core brand. Its the only gluten intolerant food that I could find.
