Angel in my pocket...feel very blessed

It is very strange that since Oct. since I have embarked on this debt journey I have so many good things happen to me with relationships, health (recovered from a physical condition that I have'nt talked about on the board), my sense of having control of my life back and yes lovely gifts from the debt angel...
Marie is right, I have been on a streak and it continued again today...
I won at the casino again today and it was a very nice win (in fact eight of us went today and seven of us (except my best buddy) came out ahead)

You know Duke I sometime feel the same way about the time I have been trying to get us out of debt. Oh I never won any money and Lord knows I haven't been in the greatest of health But to this day I have no idea how we paid so much on the debt last year and 16,000 in medical bills and dental bills too.
When Raymond came in and told me what our health tax deducton was for this years tax form my first though was that he was lying. But it was all there in all the little slips of paper he had filed away.
I find that when you start watching where your money goes it in time just hatches more money sometime. Last month we paid an extra 800 on our bills and this month it was closer to a 1000 this month.
What I am looking forward to is when the last 4,000 is paid off and we can go out and spend all that extra money on things like the carpet for the house which we have needed for last 3 years.
Keep up the good work
Mary Ann
Duke,
I'm glad you did well gambling today, but if I were in debt I would not consider the casino an entertainment option.
Not sure if there is a regular activity for you or simply a lark.
That is amazing that you won so much. I love your perspective on things. Since DH and I started accepting responsability for our past mistakes I've felt very in tune with life. It seems like now when we have more money going toward debt and less toward frivilous junk we seem to have more blessings than ever. Isn't it funny how that works?
Hi thanks for the words of wisdom...
I do go frequently but it comes out of my entertainment budget and I never play more than fifty dollars...
My debt is due to the want of beautiful things, travel etc.

Thank you Mary Ann...
I have followed your story and you are great at reducing debt...
Your in my prayers with regards to your health...
Duke
Yes I agree with you...
Lets keep it up and get this debt down where it belongs...

I totally agree...it seems that whenever I am really down on my luck and really needing some extra cashflow, it somehow just comes. Whether my husband gets a call from his second job or a rebate comes through, or I get extra piano students or some music gig, it just happens. I never count on it though and I guess that's good because it means I'm always happily surprised.
Congrats on the win! And I think $50 dollars is a good gambling cut-off. As long as you budget it in and you don't go over. By the way - How much debt have you been able to payoff since you started?
Abbie does it not show on my ticker at the bottom of my name
