Help me!!!

I am so sick of our couches they suck in pet hair are navajo style fabric and about 10 years old. It is so temtping to go and get a used sectional and now costco is having a sale on pretty much what we want. But our plan was to wait until the car is paid off. The miracle is that my husband who is now a DR fan is saying let's wait.

How do you guys ignore something that is driving you crazy that you really want to replace when it is not apart of the current plan?

Hi, Liz.

Do you have a furniture fund?

Can you do something to it? I have a sofa in our basement that I dislike, but it is comfy so I bought a cover for it so that it looks nicer and recovered the cushions. Or maybe just toss a blanket over it?

Thanks for the response. That is a good idea about the furniture fund. I am going to run it by the hubby.

Just think of all the interest you WON'T be paying if you accelerate the car payment. Now that your DH is a DR fan, you don't want to "undo" what you worked so hard to do - getting your DH onboard.

We have tried the covering route and it is a pain with the kids pulling on it. I just dream about a day when we will have leather or microfiber and everything can easily be wiped off no problem. I am a little worried about the accidental cat scratch. If anyone has had that experience and regretted leather or microfiber let me know!

thanks,

Liz

I know it true. I am a very practical person. But every 3 months I get this itch where the couches that were not meant to stay this long have to go and then something comes up and we back down.

The one perk is that we can spill on them, the cats can scratch and no one can tell or cares. I wish I had a picture I could post.

We bought microfiber and the couch and love seat only lasted 4 years until they looked awful.

We had a microfiber couch that only lasted about a year and a half. It was a very pretty seafoam green color and with three boys it was not able to hold up. I had heard such wonderful things about them too so I was very disappointed. The arm rests wore out very quickly. The fabric didn't wear through so much as it kind of lost the microfiber look and started looking shiny and gross. That and every dirty hand print

Thanks everyone for the insight. I think we are going to make a fund to replace the couch. I also just need to stop looking at Craig's list because that is when I begin to think that it is time to go for it. I don't really want to recover it since one of the spring is broken. I think in the mean time I am going to continue to vacuume it and ignore it otherwise :(.

For our bedroom set we bought it in three turns. First the mattress, second the dressers (one in the scratch
