Weekend Expenses $$?

This weekend I am working for 8 hours Saturday and 4 hours on Sunday. In October the minimum wage is going up so I might have to do this more often. Boo!

I suppose this does help curb my spending on the weekends. I bought some used clubs(new to me!!) last week for $150. I was going to get new new ones so this is a good step for me. Those of you who know me, know I don't spend a lot of money on myself as a general rule. And my boyfriend said one of the clubs I bought used from a friend of a friend is worth $200 new so yeah me!! I have put $50 away for a cart rental and I need a glove as mine was full of holes last year and I threw it out. That is my plan for next week is to golf in the evening one night. I will pay the fee from my business. I have justified it in my mind that I am working more and can do this, plus I have not put one dinner on my business credit card this year or most of last year. I will need a break from working 10 days in a row anyway. I have been catching up on a few bills at the store as I think it is finally picking up a bit. Plus I have lost a couple pounds and have not had my evening drinks that I normally do! So saving money there and being healthier!

I hope to do some laundry this weekend despite work and do some BBqing outside and do some walking. I would love to do some cooking for left over lunches but I don't know if I will have time plus I need to go grocery shopping badly. I don't know if I will spend any cash unless I get to the golf course. One of my liquor reps gave me a golf dress I am excited to wear. I am also working on him to deck out my girl's foursome for a tournament we enter every year. Last year I got hats and shirts so that would be great!

What are you guys doing?

Kind of an expensive weekend for us probably.

I'm really hoping to keep the spending to a minimum this weekend.

The only expense for me should be groceries.

DH needs some shoes and he is finnaly going to get them tommorow from REI. He is going to run out there by himself and use a coupon and come back quick so hopefully he won't get tempted by anything else. I am not worried because he is really focus right now. We might do a little grocery shoping but I am going to try an prolong it as long as possible to get us to use up what is remaning. Otherwise we are going to garden, take the girls to music class and lay low. I might go out with a friend and try to squeeze in a yoga class.

dh is working all weekend. yay for overtime, boo for not seeing him much. doing what i can to be supportive of the massive hours he's been taking on. baby and i have some shopping to do for pajamas and groceries. other than that hoping to get out and walk, go to the park, etc. do some spring cleaning and laundry. should be a really low key weekend. car goes in on monday for the next round of pothole repairs. might help my parents make new tomato cages, but it might be next weekend instead.

that's it, pretty boring around here until we are past the frost date. then the planting begins! whee!

DH and I are determined this weekend be a cheap one! We even agreed to not even attempt to do any eating out this weekend. No fast food, no delivery nothing! This is unusual for us since we usually at least hit up a fast food place for lunch when we're out and about.

Tomorrow I need to do my regular grocery trip. DH is going to stay home with the kids even though he doesn't know it yet. I also need the oil changed in my car. This is a case of the shoemaker and his shoes since DH is a mechanic and should be doing this himself but still wants me to take it to Pep Boys to have it done.

I've had a hell of a week and would really like go out and have a nice dinner and a few too many drinks with DH and forget my troubles for a few hours but it's not gonna happen right now.

The lawnmower is DEAD! and with 5 acres it needs to be working! I don't know what we expect though, it's much older than I am and the guy at the service shop said it will cost about $2000 just to get it running again since the parts cost so much. The sucky part is it died about a third of the way into cutting the lawn and the grass was already pretty tall in the first place. We figure to replace it with a decnt lawnmower that will be able to handle such a large yard for many years to come will cost about $1500. We have some of that amount but not all.

The good news is DHs union is expecting to finalize their new contract on Monday. Thats only 4 months later than they were supposed to finalize it. The better news is that since it was the company that was dragging their feet reviewing the contract then once the contracts are signed all the employees will get 4 months of retroactive pay for the rate increase that is in the contract. So if all goes as planned then DH could be expecting that extra check in the mail

Karen, I'm so glad you finally got some golf clubs -- I know you've been wanting them!

This should be a cheap weekend for us. Tomorrow night we are going to our neighbors house, which will be a cheap night. We did "big" grocery shopping last week, so even that will be minimal this week.

Kate,

I'm happy to hear the spot seems only to be a scar.
