I tried scar zone for about a month or so; I didn't notice any great difference. I've switched to coco butter lotion since then, about 2.5 months, but I still haven't seen any change. But then I'm not overly concerned about the scars. To me, it's similar to a tattoo and I already have 2 of those and wanting more lol

I use Aveno creams, my PS told me not to waste my money on the other stuff but to use something I knew I wouldn't have a reactin too. So far so good! But it's only been 7 weeks so the scares are still really bad.

I used Mederma for a while, but didn't notice it helping and did not really like the feel of it. Plus it was expensive. Cocoa butter lotion with vitamin e was and still is my friend. I think it helped soften out my scars and take away the redness.

It seems like cocoa butter is the winner and the most inexpensive choice. Thank you for your answers ladies.

You can find the cocoa butter lotion at any drug store, Walmart, KMart. It is Palmers cocoa butter with vitamin e and it comes in a tub, of thick waxier stuff and lotion in a bottle. I use the thick stuff at first. I would take a glob out and rub it in between my palms to soften it and then rubbed it in. I would then put a light weight cotton t shirt between my skin and bra and it would help from getting greasy and it was very comfortable. I still use the lotion over 16 months later after surgery. I really think it has helped my scars.

Any drug store should carry the cocoa butter cream.

Thank you! I think I'll get some. How soon did you start applying the lotion?
