Lipo on the sides?

How many of you got lipo on the sides with your BR? My surgery is scheduled for Dec 4th, and my PS didn't say anything about it at all. I just recently found out that some women have this done at the time of surgery. Is it worth it, does it make a big difference, is it better to have done with one incision over another? Any input would be helpful! Thanks.

There are many ladies that discuss the lipo along with BR at this site

Honestly, I had it with my BR (which was 6 weeks ago) , but I can't really tell a difference. I went from a 40FF to a 40C. I was told I was going to have it at my initial consult, but who knows- maybe I didn't get it and I just think I did!

Hi Maryann
I didn't have lipo with my surgery. I think it is only needed if you are a big women to start and maybe if you really have a lot of boob to lose. Not that I didn't have lots to lose, but I don't think I needed this. I weighed 189, 5'4", 40DDD at time of surgery. I went down to a 38C and now weigh 168. I have slight 'dog ears' on the side, but I don't think lipo would make a difference with that. I don't really care for the dog ears, but that is under my arms and not really noticeable unless I lift my arms up when I am naked. A bra and swimsuit cover it up. I do remember reading a while back about a couple different ladies that had the lipo with surgery and said that was more painful to recover from. I guess it is all different. But if your doctor didn't mention it than I guess he thinks you don't need it.
Good luck with your surgery and let us know if you have any other questions before your surgery.

Thanks so much for the response. I am 5'9" 170lbs 38DDD, and plan to go to a C cup. I have my pre-op appt the day before thanksgiving and I plan to ask my PS. I too have heard the lipo can be painful, hopefully I won't need it!

Good luck tomorrow at your pre-op appointment. Ask lots of questions and no question is too small or stupid. If you are really prepared for everything, you will do a lot better afterwards.
Keep in touch!!
