I was just wondering about what happens at the pre-op appointment. I have mine next Tuesday and was just curious. I know I get registered for my hospital stay but do they do like blood work and a mammogram? I know I should be asking my doc about this stuff but you have all helped in some way before thought I could get your input instead. Thank you guys for listening.

I agree. The lady I had to pre-pre admit with said something about blood work and going over what was going to happen the day of the surgery but she didn't say anything else. Only that it should take about an hour.

I believe at the pre-op is when my PS gave me paperwork to take to my primary care doctor so I could have blood work, EKG and pre-op physical done. So I had to schedule an appointment with my primary care doctor to have all the tests done at least 2 weeks prior to my surgery. Results were faxed to my PS.

Sorry this is probably a little late since your appt is tomorrow, but here goes:

blood work - CMP, CBC at the minimum

pee in a cup

vital signs

maybe an EKG depending on health issues and/or age

mammogram depending on the doctor maybe within the past year, some say within the past 3 months, one told me 6 months.
