Here's my saga...

Just really up & down this week...UGH...I got a *late* notice for my car payment again, so I have to call this morning and see what in the world is up with that. I had gotten called, the guy was all confused, then did some research and figured out that I *wasn't* late last month, etc... and told me to just ignore the late notice last time and they would research it. OK, fine, never heard back from them yet. He did say it would take a while. So, Saturday in the mail, I get the *late* notice again. I have to call today but honestly I'm tempted just to charge it and be done with it since this happened in 1999 supposedly I wrote a check out for $100 less than the regular car payment. I think they are full of it but I have no way to prove it, etc...

Then, I need to call about our food stamps, I was under the impression our account would just be credited until DH got a job but we never got April's credit, so don't know if they have just decided we don't qualify anymore or what is going on...I'm wondering if we were supposed to use it up completely (which we didn't do) before they would think we qualify or I need to go in there and get it refilled. I'm not sure it's worth the hassle, they never tell you anything...they assume you are psyhic and know how the sytem works even though I have never been on it before in my life. They don't bother to tell you the rules. I have no problem complying to what they need IF they would tell me, I don't magically know this stuff. UGH...

Can you tell, I'm just totally annoyed with people in general NOT letting you know things and expecting you to be all knowing for every little detail...seems to be happening in a lot of stuff lately...I mean come on...if I was $100 off in 1999 couldn't they have told me RIGHT THEN??? That irks me to no end. I'm just tired of having to be the one to call to get anything done, when some of it should be the other way around. I go along in my little world assuming everything is fine & dandy and I have done my part of the deal and expect that others will follow-through on their end of the deal.

Then, I was given $100 to get the kids Easter Outfits and *oops* I spent $95 just on my DD, although we tried very hard to find something cheaper, everything was really yucky.

Luckily, the boys are easier to buy for and honestly don't need as much. I'm not even sure the baby needs anything because he can just wear Aaron's hand-me downs. LOL!! Except all 3 of them need dress shoes..Payless here we come. :)

Enough complaining...it's almost 9 AM, time to go become a ranting lunatic for all these stupid bills. LOL!!

Well, I am doing ok. I am now fairly certain there are no summer jobs to be had so I need to brace myself financially for taking the summer off. Last week I bounced my checking account and had to call the bank to get the charges reversed. I *never* bounce my account. This was a nice little wake up call. Spent about two hours on Saturday entering my checking account register into MSN Money and I feel a lot better.

I have also been doing a lot of spring cleaning so my house is getting nice and clean. Also just realized we are having Easter at my house. BF has offered to help with expenses but, I really don't want to take advantage of that because we will be entertaining all of my family. I think I will just have him get the liquor and pasteries. My sister is bringing the potato salad.

Only working four days this week!! YEAH!!! We have Friday off and then I am off all of next week. Can't wait!!!

Hope everyone is doing well.

P.S. I got the title to my car in the mail on Saturday with a statement that said *Paid in Full*. Too bad the cc's aren't paid off, too...sigh...Gina

Well for me the good was that we did good going through the week M-F without spending very much money. Dh even took his lunch each day. I also got a letter from our cell phone company saying that if I renew they will wave the montly charge for a month. Wow more money to send to other creditors. I also worked two overtime shifts so that next payday I will finally get our only credit card down below the limit and since it is not past due they should finally stop call me.

The bad is that I'm a getting over obsessed with budgeting and bill paying. Someone stop me quick!LOL I know this is a much better turn around then when we would throw bills away without even opening them, but I need to get a life. I have already set up my bill pay to pay my bills for the next two paychecks. I have worked, worked again and re-worked my spending plan. I'm watching out the window for the mailperson so I can see if I have any new bills with new lower balances so I can watch my total debt go down.

Now for the ugly. I spent way to much over the weekend. After doing so well all week. I went out and blew money on me and the kids. I often do this when dh is out of town. It's like I'm trying to make up for him not being there he travels a lot for his work and his sport. I had to move money from savings to checking to cover my spending this weekend I'm feeling so ashamed.

I have plans to spend no money this week. It's spring break and the only plan I have is to take the kids ice skating on tuesday night. It's cheapskate night and we can get in for $3.00 a piece. Wednesday kids are going to grandmas for a few days and dh is working out of town. So it should be a inexpensive week!

I'm looking forward to getting back on track with my debt payoff plan! I got a small raise at work last week--just "cost-of-living" due to the economy--but something's better than nothing! And with that PLUS S/O having a job now (phew!) we can get the ball rolling again! Mine will be easy because I've been pretty much keeping up with things, so once I get some small debts paid off (such as Swiss Colony from Christmas) I'll be able to step things up a bit.

S/O's financial plan will be a bit more complicated since he's basically had his head stuck in the sand for the past 3-4 months!! He's really gotta get his finances under control. I'll be able to stop asking him for so much money to help with the household, so that'll help, but beyond that--I've nagged and offered help 'til I'm blue in the face but ultimately, it's up to HIM to get motivated...it's hard but he CAN do it (and he'd better!)

This past week has been ok for me. I am struggling a bit with our budget. I have been working on a budget these past few weeks and it seems when I have things figured out someone throws a wrench in it. I got our gas bill this week and we usually pay 74.00 a month (budget plan) but the actual bill was 191.00!!!! In total our bill we owe is 350.00!! This gets settled up in October so I phoned the gas co and had our pymts raised just so we would break even in October. The price of gas is outrageous is it not? I haven't really noticed it with our van but we don't drive alot and I usually only fill once a month so this gas bill just sneaked up on me. GRRRR!!!!

Other than that my dh and I are doing good. Cutting back on things is taking time to get used to but it feels good to be IN CHARGE of the money instead of the money being in charge of me! LOL

Here's my late check in. :)

DH and I go over our finances together once a week. Last week we thought we'd really hammered some stuff out, made a plan to pay off our credit card debt (and we did, that was good!) - and then we realized that our mortgage payment is going up $80/month starting next month and we didn't figure out where THAT's going to come from. So...sometime this week we have to sit down with the monthly budget AGAIN to hammer that out.

It's been a roller coaster week for me and DH. He finally get paid for a closing 2 weeks ago (YEAH) however, we spent money both weekends and almost depleted our savings account. :0( I also charged almost $400 on the CC. I didn't mind at the time, but by the time I got back home I was depressed. We may end up canceling our vacation in June because we really "should" use the $2500 to pay off bill. We were on the internet until almost 11:00 pm looking for any "deals" I really need to go on a vacation otherwise I will end up "stopping by" work almost everyday and not enjoying my time off. I hope this week will be better.

Sheesh! It's already Thursday, and I'm just replying now...

Today I paid off another $200 to my hospital bill, balance is $3556

I have $53 left in my checking account, but $150 will automatically come out of it on the 21st to pay Discover card, which will leave a balance of $5438.

I'll be making $110 this Sunday, so I'll have to transfer that immediately from savings to checking. I think I'll also log into Fleet and postpone the Discover card payment a day. That will take care of that.

DF pays for groceries, and I'll pay him back half at the end of the month.

I had to transfer money from my ING account to pay my Amex bill, which was $2076. A new mattress, and a weekend at a bed and breakfast were both on it.

I opened a Fleet credit card and transferred my AT&T Universal card onto it before the ATT interest rate goes from 0% to whatever. So the balance on that should be $3801.
