I'm Back till the Debt is gone this time
Tue, 01-05-2010 - 6:40pm

Hello everyone. I am back again. They say that the 3rd time is a charm right. I am feeling positive that 2010 will be a good year to get my debt paid down.

My starting debt is $28,395, pretty close to what it was last year when I started here. I paid down quite a bit and then yes more expenses, more debt. I feel like a hamster on a wheel (a highly stressed hamster that is) and I want it to stop.

Yes it's a lot and yes it keeps me up at night and often times has me in tears, but I am going to tackle it this year. One month, one two week pay cycle at a time.

*Remind me of my calm and logical demeanor when I am ranting that "I can never get my debt paid down!"

So this is me here I am, more detail/debt breakdown coming soon

Hi Michelle, it's good to see you again!

Debt repayment is not the linear process that many people anticipate it will be.

Hey Smooch,

Glad to see you! Not that you haven't reduced happy, but happy.

And think of it this way. You have been paying your mortgage on your lovely house so you have made progress regardless of how you feel at the moment. And the debt hasn't gotten worse right just the same. So count your blessings!

This will be a better year!

Thanks everyone for the words of encouragement! I forget that paying my mortgage is gaining equity (good debt) - which is different than paying down plain ole credit card debt (bad debt).

We are hoping to get some money back in taxes this year and knock off one of the credit cards right off the bat. The rest...well one snowflake at a time.
